The Department of Sociology uses the following questions to assess student evaluations of teaching:

Course goals and objectives were clearly outlined at the beginning of the semester.*

The instructor was organized and prepared for classes.*

The instructor encouraged students' questions, ideas and comments.*

The instructor explained the material clearly and effectively.*

Students were treated with consideration and respect.*

The instructor was helpful when students had difficulty.*

Readings and assignments complemented and enhanced the class.*
