Jan Rienerth's areas of specialization are Corrections, Applied Sociology, and the Criminal Justice System. She obtained her Masters and Doctorate degrees from Southern Illinois University, earning her PhD in 1977. Dr. Rienerth primarily teaches classes in Criminology, Corrections, Applied Sociology, Women: Offenders, Victims, and Practitioners. In addition she supervises interns and student teachers. Dr. Reinerth's personal hobbies and interests outside of school include doing crafts and serving on various community boards.
