Denisé Dews has been with the ASU Social Work Program since 2004. She brings to the program 17 years of social work experience (six years in public child welfare and eleven years with a private, non-profit hospital). Her primary research interests include: Public Child Welfare, End of Life Decision Making, Field Education, and Medical Social Work. At the present time, Dews is the field coordinator for the social work program.
Miss Dews is a member of the NC Social Work Field Consortium, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Society of Social Work Researchers. In 2003, Dews was selected outstanding teaching assistant at University of Georgia . She received a competitive dissertation grant from the Children's Bureau for her research Judicial Perception of Public Child Welfare Workers. Additionally, she wrote an initial grant titled, Indigent Prescription Program , which continues to be funded annually by a private foundation.

Dews is civic minded and active in the community. Although she is a Florida native, she has embraced Boone as her home and continues to marvel at the beauty of the mountains. |
